I have a question for the group, what type of printing service can one expect 
from Linux Applications such as OpenOffice, kwrite etc. to a printer (Epson) 
installed on Windows and networked through Samba.

I have a small home network with a Windows PC, Linux and sometimes Windows 
Laptop.  The Windows PC and Linux both have printers but I would like to 
print on the Windows Printer using Linux OpenOffice and other applications.  
Is this doable.  The Linux machine is running Mandrake 8.1 and using cups for 
printing.  I am able to print using smbclient and the Epson printer shows up 
in the print dialogue in applications such as OpenOffice and kwrite.  The 
print job from OpenOffice or kwrite however does not invoke any obvious 
action, what should I expect.  Unfortunately I have not encountered any 
articles regarding this type of printing.
