Anyone else here taking advantage of the RHN for updates?
It has been working fine for me for the past 6 months or so. On 2/10
the power blinked about an hour after I flew out of town for a week,
and up2date stopped working about an hour after that. (How do they
know when I leave??)
Here's the block of messages that is repeating in /var/log/up2date:
[d/t] = date and time
[d/t] up2date updating login info
[d/t] up2date Opening rpmdb in /var/lib/rpm/ with option 0
[d/t] up2date logging into up2date server
[d/t] up2date A socket error occured: unable to set up CONNECTION
tunnel, attempt #1
[d/t] up2date A socket error occured: unable to set up CONNECTION
tunnel, attempt #2
[d/t] up2date A socket error occured: unable to set up CONNECTION
tunnel, attempt #3
[d/t] up2date A socket error occured: unable to set up CONNECTION
tunnel, attempt #4
[d/t] up2date A socket error occured: unable to set up CONNECTION
tunnel, attempt #5
[d/t] up2date Error communicating with server. The message was:
unable to set up CONNECTION tunnel
As far as I can tell, everything else is working. I've sent an email
to Red Hat about this but they generally take about 3 days to answer
the freebee questions.
Any idea what this is?
TIA,
Rick Matthews
