We've been using RM/Cobol on Linux for several years and it's been working
out great. You'd have to buy the compiler and runtime (I know that's not
popular with Linux users), but it works. Check out www.liant.com.

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] Native COBOL Compiler for Linux

I am looking to port an enterprise application written on COBOL on Mainframe
using IMS database.

Currently I am thinking to use c-tree for the database part.
Is there any COBOL compiler for Linux?
Is there any free alternative to c-tree?

I request you all for suggestions and guidance.

Thanks,

Samy Rengasamy.
