Hmm. that fixed it for me, took all day to read enough to try that.
There is also a gnome telnet client in Mandrake 8.1 which did not have
that problem. It took a while to find it, within the KDE install.
How old is your telnet server? I think that may be the "source" of the
problem. My telnet server was on RedHat 6.2, but had been upgraded due to
problems that allowed it to be cracked remotely.
