Skipping from the personal preferences in document formatting to the
reading:
(1) Table of contents - do you intend to have one?
(2) Index - do you intend to have one?
(3) Do you cover networks or not? The Introduction suggest yes, the
email says no, and the text so far does not seem to include networking
information, though I admit that was from a very quick scan.
(4) Under "Structural Notes" (and here I am sure someone will correct me
if I am wrong):
~/(directory name) would mean the user's home directory in the
bash, korn, or C, shells, and ../(directory name), or more specifically
.., would mean the parent directory. But maybe you have a reason for
the choice of notation?
More notes later, as I have time to read, or re-read, but I would
recommend that someone other than the author edit the material. I
know, that is what you are asking us to do, but this comment is in
particular for grammar, and readability, and I know I am not going to be
a reliable source for that.
One last suggestion for the moment: Keep you chin up - in any serious
critique, or series of critiques, there are bound to be a few wounds
(intentional or not) - prepare for a battering and try not to take it
personal. Of course, if you have already gone through this process
before, you already know what is coming if you get the participation you
are asking for.
Best of luck.
