The setup of X-CD-Roast (after installation) is slightly complicated.

First, start X and open up an xterm.

If you're not logged in as root, run "xhost localhost && su" to gain root
privileges. Then run "xcdroast", taking note of any warnings it prints out
in your xterm.

The X-CDRoast dialog window should now be up. Setting up which device to use
for burning and other burning options should be fairly intuitive; once this
is done, you should always be able to burn CD's, assuming that you have root
privileges.

With a little work, you should also be able to set up X-CDRoast to allow
non-root users to burn CDs. Information on how to do this should be detailed
in /usr/doc/xcdroast*/README.nonroot, assuming that file exists. If it
doesn't, I can post it as an attachment.
