GRIP is a decent front end, I use Grip, which
automatically does ripping, and then bladeenc for the
encoding, you have to download seperate, but GRIP
automates the functionality. You put in a CD, select
the tracks you want to rip (it pulls from Freedb), and
click rip, it will rip them, encode them, and pop in an
ID3 tag. One thing, version 3.0 does better ID3 tags
than the one that ships with RH 7.3 does. So upgrade to
grip 3.0, and install bladeenc. Configure once, and it
is smooth sailing from then on. Grip also supports Ogg,
and a few other MP3 encoders.
Grip can be found at:

There are links at the bottom to bladeenc and lame
encoders.
