What cliff was telling you is to add this to the ~/.xinitrc

This will run this command when xstarts instead of the first time you start a shell.

Yes it is for X  the command is Esetroot (it makes Eterm and xchat 
transparent) 
Esetroot -scale /usr/X11R6/share/Eterm/pix/background.jpg
I put it in .bash_profile just like that but it didn't take,do i need to put 
exec before it?
