Printer model: HP Officejet d115xi
OS: Red Hat Linux 7.1
I have been testing different driver configurations looking for the best
one.
One common problem I have found amongst the ones that work so far has
been the color representation on the test page.
The test page (if you are not familiar with a Red Hat Printtool
PostScript Test Page) shows:
(1) 0.5" and 1" margins all around
(2) Some type that explains what you should be seeing
(3) A Red Hat logo that should have a red hat on a color printer
(a) Red Hat's round logo in a rectangular field of gray with an
overprint of black type on the field.
(4) A strip of other colors, each labeled as to what they are supposed
to be.
Problems:
(1) The gray field has varied, depending on the driver, for simple gray,
to blue gray, to warm gray.
(a) May not be a biggy, but I mention it anyway.
(2) The color bar (and so far these are consistent results):
(a) Blue has printed purple
(b) Red has printed reddish brown
(c) Yellow is OK
(d) Purple has printed magenta
(e) Brown has printed - well I would accept that as a brown
(f) Gold has been kind of orange, but what is gold supposed to look
like anyway?
(g) Cyan is OK
(h) Green is OK
Short story: Does anybody have any experience with this test page in
color? Can you tell me if this is as "good as it gets"?
Thank you in advance for any help or insight you can offer.
