But what was the problem?
Did you actually have specific modules that (1) you needed, (2) you
_hadn't_ compiled into the kernel so that they were no longer modules,
and (3) previously were loaded automatically by the earlier kernel but
not by the new kernel?
It's not clear to me there was ever a real problem. Maybe you just ran
into a fan of ext3 who couldn't figure out what your complaint was.
