[NTLUG:Discuss] Scanning networks

Thanks all for the replies. I am using nmap to scan my network, but the
question I had was if I scan my gateway ip from behind my network, with
an IP that was aliased, and not a trusted host on my network, should I
get accurate results? Previously I was scanning from the same host
behind my network, but the IP was a trusted host on my gateway,
therefore, I saw the ports. I hope I am putting this in the right
context.
