Ever tried Firebird (Open Source Interbase) at firebirdsql.com?

Typically, I access the command line, but I do like having multiple
command line windows open at a time. I am usually on another
machine with a gui, but when I do have to work on the server,
perhaps addressing Ethernet issues, I like to have the same convenience

Mozilla is fantastic. The "Antipopup" feature is the best.
(Uncheck   Edit->Preferences->Advanced->
Scripts & Plugins->Allow scripts to->Open unrequested windows)

Why Gnome over KDE?

When your system boots, have you already hardcoded an address to eth1?
For instance is it always 192.168.1.1? Or, do you leave it disabled, and
then the when the dhcp daemon startup up, it enables eth1 with an address.
I guess I am trying to figure out if Linux or DHCP is in control of the address.
If Linux is in control, when I run the install, I will setup eth1 with a specific
address (say 192.168.1.1), but if the dhcpd daemon enables the card, then
on my install I would tell Linux not to enable eth1. I beleive I am supposed
to activate the card with a specific address.

Thanks,
Bob
