The Tyan Thunder K7X-Pro (S2469UNG ) uses Intel's EtherPro and E1000 Pro.
It's like getting Gigabit ethernet for free! I see a beowolf cluster in
my future! Dual U/320 and Rage XL onboard too. I was aiming for stable,
so the no overclocking option is ok. I'm a little surprised tho' still
no USB2.0.

I've never had a problem with the couple of 3Com's I've used. I have to
say I never expect any official company support for anything. It's like an
extra present that we can get drivers from Nvidia, for instance. When
attempting bleeding edge stuff, I scan the web to see what kind of active
community development there is. Just a couple days ago, eg, linux
developers announced they would be able to support the "Audigy 2".
