A script's usefulness depends on what one wants it for.
For many situations all I need to do is "dd if=/dev/scd0 of=myisoimg.iso"
Note: The CD must NOT be mounted when doing this. Simple ... easy!
One could create a shell alias: "alias cdmkiso='su dd if=/dev/scd0 of=$'
