Hi,

Guys I need to know how much these certifications hold value in the job market.
If I go with a some cool Linux certificate for a job do I stand a higher chance
than an other person who does not hold a certificate?

   Any thoughts on this?

I read the book for linux+ in about 3 days. Some of the ideas in the book
conflicted with what I have learned - I still have not taken the test so I
do not know how hard/easy it is. I am also researching both LPI and SAIR -
unfortunately, SAIR is currently updating all of the tests so anything you
do now may be expired quickly. Last time I checked LPI - it was not that
up to date (this may have change and I will be looking directly after
hitting send). I would prefer the LPI and/or SAIR get the material up to
date quickly so that people won't have to re-certify.

my 2 cents

Matt
