[NTLUG:Discuss] Slightly OT Netscape 4.78 and 6.2.3 on Linux - security issues - maybe

Situation:
(1) Originally, the bank's site wouldn't work with Netscape releases 
higher than 4.x.
(2) Recently the bank's site suddenly wouldn't work with 4.x, but would 
work with 6.x
(3) Problem - on 6.2.3 I get a message warning that my login information 
is not encrypted.
(4) Now 4.78 works again, and there is not a message about login not 
being encrypted.

Question:
Am I right in expecting the 4.78 to warn me if my login information is 
not encrypted?

PS: Yes, I did send a message to the bank about the problem - but 
remember, I'm on Linux and they "don't support it" (i.e., they may fix 
it, and they may not).
