The way I understand it, Microsoft was sublicensing
Timeline's IP to SQL Server customers. Timeline found
out about it sued Microsoft and won. Now Timeline is
threatening to sue MS SQL customers who sublicensed
the IP as well.  Some (if not all) of the customers
who were duped into buying the sublicensing scheme
from Microsoft are also considering taking legal
action against Microsoft.
