If you're not getting anything back from shipping the old battery back
you can do it locally.  I have dropped off bad gel-cell batteries, that
I've (ab)used with my ham radios, at the "BatteriesPlus" stores.  These
stores are pretty scattered around DFW.  They were glad to take 'em for
recycling with no charge!  [pun intended!]
