One thing that I'd like to point out with attbi; The initial setup is
not linux friendly. In order to 'register' your cable modem after the
guy installs the cable stuff, you will either need a fairly powerful MS
computer to run attbi's MS only cdrom (I think they have mac too but no
linux) OR a browser capable of running screwy java junk.

When I had it installed, I only had linux installed on my powerful
machines and had MS 98 on a really weak machine. After an hour of the
guy trying to find the url to attbi's online cable modem registration, I
found that it would not run correctly in my browser (some really
horrible java junk). So, I put the attbi cdrom into my wife's
low-powered (64mb ram, P90) MS 98 and the cdrom said, "Your computer
does not have enough power to work on the internet" or something to that
effect. I think it may be a conspiracy to force people to go out and buy
new computers.

I ended up having to put MS 98 onto a more powerful machine just to get
the cable modem working. After all that, attbi works good.

Cheers,
Rob
