I know that there used to be a NNTP server for the NTLUG stuff but 
it wasn't used much. 

How come we don't use a NNTP list for this list instead of a 
mailing list. If you want to cut down on bandwidth, I think that a 
News Server would cut down on the bandwidth. You can just grab
the headers of messages and pull the bodies that you want to pull. 


I haven't seen any thing that puts HTML into a news post so the 
whiners that keep complaining about HTML won't have anything to 
whine about. 

Also...  with a News server / News Reader, all of the people on 
2400 baud modems that can't handle HTML can ignore the 20+ at&t cable
modem posts that were made today since they don't need to know anything
about high speed internet. 

Just my opinion.
