Search the net... you'll find that IDE cables in particular are
probably the highest risk rounded cable.  With that said, all
of the cables in my computer are rounded with the fake copper
sheath (for style!).  I have two IDE cables (which are too long..
shorter is better), four rounded U160 scsi cables and a rounded
floppy cable.  I haven not had any problems, I bought them
off the shelf from CompUSA.
