No, I've seen that and no help there.  In fact, if you'll notice, those 
hpijs pages have a lot of good info but is missing one small detail: 
 The install instructions page is missing or broken.

I'm going to tinker with it some more and will see what I can find out, 
but have since decided that the deskjet 3320 or 3420 are bad choices for 
printer and a much better choice would be the epson stylus c60 or c62, 
so I may box this printer up and send it back when I'm done 
experimenting with this configuration issue.
