The same problem has exibited itself with both the orinoco_cs kernel
module and linux-wlan-ng. I've used Debian, Redhat, SuSe, and Gentoo on
this laptop and have yet to find the right mix of module, pcmcia-cs
version and kernel. Using linux-wlan-ng, I can get a little more data
through the card than orinoco_cs. The posts that I've read describing the
same problem that I've had have workarounds like dumbing the wireless
network down to 2Mbs and lowering the MTU to PPP settings (both of which
are not acceptable to do file transfers).
I've resinged myself to waiting until I can plug the 100Mbs ethernet cable
into the laptop and re-configuring the laptop's network settings before
doing any transfers.
