[NTLUG:Discuss] Synergy 1.0.8

Has anybody else tried out this program?  It's kind of like a software 
KVM, but it uses multiple monitors.  Looks like full KVM is coming.

I finally got around to trying out Synergy 1.0.8 - and I like it quite a 
bit.  Setup was incredibly easy - in fact I had it up and running in 
under 5 minutes for both the client (win98) and server (RH 7.2).

Good stuff:
  - I now don't have two keyboards and two mice on my desk!  More room 
is always good.
  - Ease of configuration.
  - Shared clipboard between machines.

Stuff still missing:

  - Special character support in clipboard (only supports ASCII text).
  - As per their TODO list, drag and drop between machines would be very 
nice.
  - applets for the taskbar in X.
  - Full KVM functionality for network headless admin for ONE machine.
  - encryption/authentication

All in all this is an *excellent* piece of software, and I'm glad I 
stumbled across it.
