[NTLUG:Discuss] Debian advice

Howdy,
   I got a Debian system up and running last night.  I used the Libranet 
2.7 free download and ir went pretty smoothly.  Now I want to get it more 
up to date..  Can any debian users advise me?  I added a debian source for 
unstable and started a apt-get dist-upgrade before I left the office.  I 
know one pillar of Debian is stability over newness.  But Mozila 1.0 and 
code from that era was not good for me.
