That name rings a bell.  They had a woman come out to where I worked about 2 
years ago looking to place some people; the usual cold-call sort of stuff. 
She was quite professional.  Of course, that is the other end of the stick 
than you were on.

I'm really sympathetic to your lousy experience, having received that 
treatment in the last year.  The majority of recruiters I've encountered are 
reasonable people.  I suspect they're like lawyers, a few bad ones make the 
rest look bad too--rather unfortunate.  Don't write them all off, just talk to 
friends about who's good and use them.  I can't offer any suggestions at this 
time though--sorry!
