[NTLUG:Discuss] interestign feature in Suse 8.2

All,

This morning, I was going to view a postscript file via ghostview using
the following syntax:

> ghostview fb100602.ps

and the shell came back with this:

CORRECT>kghostview fb100602.ps (y|n|e|a)?

so, I hit 'y' and kghostview fires up and I am able to read the file.

My question is: how does this "autocorrection" occur? I'm assuming (not
always a good idea) that this behavior is built into the shell. If so,
where do I find out how this is done, so I can recreate it in other
shells on other systems.

I am using tcsh. According to rpm, this belongs to the package
tcsh-6.12.00-143. Is it how the /bin/tcsh binary was written that
causes this behavior or can I modify the behavior in a dot file
somewhere on the system?

Thanks in advance,
Alton Pouncey
