[NTLUG:Discuss] VMWare alt. for running JumpStart and Photoshop

Howdy,
   I have used the Gimp to touch up still photos and I have been quite 
happy with the results.  SuSE comes with a program that is supposed to be 
decent for editing movies.  It is called MainActor.  I have not tried it 
yet, but it might be that it would do what you need.  What do you need 
there, anyway?  What Windows program would you be replacing?  Linux has 
nice tools for transcoding between formats.
