[NTLUG:Discuss] creating driver disks

I am trying to install linux directly to a lun using a Fibre card from
emulex.  They have a driver disk for Red Hat 8 but I need to do this install
using either 7.3 or Red Hat Enterprise Server v3.  I modified the
instructions found here in an attempt to create a new modules.cgz on the
disk but I cannot get the install program to associated the driver with the
card.  The install will load the driver but will not use it with the card so
I can find the lun.  Does anyone have any experience with emulex in this
regard?  Any insight into building a driver disk for the install program?
