hosed like how?  They've only said for the last 8 months or so they
weren't going to support 7.x, 8.x, 9.x anymore.  

They gave users three options:

1) Migrate
2) Write it yourself
3) Buy the Enterprise Edition

If you just installed yesterday, then yeah, you got a gripe.
