good lord - hadn't heard that one.
in pure principle (hey I was an econ minor), sure, it's "good" - industry and job churn are good things for an economy - keeps it current and new.
BUT.....
what will take the place of these jobs? correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that US industry is utilizing G3 telecom technologies, especially in the wireless arena.
as such, we won't see telecome development jobs spring up here. Another GREAT reason is the FTTP example cited earlier.
So.... as we churn (kill) these "obsolete" jobs, what takes their place?
The newest widget, sure. But, can the widget survive in the regulatory climate we have? Again, see the Verizon / FTTP example.
