One was HGTV's website...www.hgtv.com when they were taking
registrations for their drawing for the dream home in Georgia. There
were several links you had to click on to get to where you were able to
sign up and one or two of those would do it. But those links are down
now that the registration period is over.
Another is (and this is repeatable) at
http://www.rpmseek.com/index.html. I discovered it when I was doing a
search for an updated RH 8.0 RPM for Spam Assassin. Do a search for
Spam Assassin (with the space) and a list of available software comes
up, click on spamassassin (157) and it sometimes freezes at that point.
Sometimes it will go on to the next page, which lists the available rpms
for the different distros, select spamassassin-2.63-3_11.rh8.0
.at.i386.rpm and it will take you to a page describing the package.
Click on the download link and it would sometimes freeze there.
The irritating thing about all this is that it doesn't happen all the
time. Usually, you can back out (kill the browser) and try again and it
might work just fine. I don't know if this is site specific, a bug
that's being hit in the browsers by those sites or just something wrong
with my box. I tend not to think it's a bug, because it's happened with
so many different browsers. Unless it's a java thing, I can't see it
happening on M$ AND Linux specific browsers too. Having said that,
maybe it IS a java bug. Dunno.
Kevin, if I can think of any other sites (this is all that hits me right
now), I'll send you a private email with those URL's. If you find
something, share it with the rest of us.
Thanks,
Wayne
