[NTLUG:Discuss] SuSE 9 and mysql server startup

Howdy,
I have a SuSE 9 server where I want to run a mysql server. I
installed the software and I see the executables. I have not figured
out how to start them at system startup. That is to say, I have not
figured the right way to do it. I can manually start the server, and I
can certainly write an init.d script to do it. But, I kind of think
there must be an easy and standard way to do it that I have missed.
When I wrote init.d scripts before, it was for obscure programs, but
MySQL servers are not exactly rare. On a RedHat system, I just went
into the list of Services and put a check mark by mysqld. There is no
similar entry in SuSE. I have googled without finding anything useful.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Good day,
Ralph
