You can usally go to the Maxim/DalSemi website and get (what used to be)
upto four (4) free samples.  Head over to www.maxim-ic.com, on the right
hand column there's a "Samples and Literature" link.  Apparently now,
Maxim requires a regstration to request samples but it doesn't appear to
be too bad - only email and a password are required.  Other than a phone
and fax (which aren't required) the only other information requested
would be your name and address, presumably so they can send the samples
to you. :-)

I've used DalSemi's free samples request before with good success.

Just a fairly happy customer although I work just a mile down the road
from DalSemi.
