[NTLUG:Discuss] What happened to Linksys?? BEFSR81v3 is junk

This Linksys "bashing" is rather quite interesting. Around June '02 I
bought both a Linksys EtherFast Cable Modem (BEFCMU10) and an EtherFast
Cable/DSL 8-port Router (BEFSR81v2) and have used them with the local
cable company with hardly a problem. I've had them on a cheap APC UPS
(from Sam's) for the past 8-months and any temporary glitches I used to
experience have disappeared. Being out in the "country" we miss a few
of those 1/60th second power cycles every so often. :-)

BTW, all this equipment has been kept up in one of our attics, albeit one
on the north side of the house, where temperatures have gotten as high
as 117°F and as low as 24°F. I have a small TINI board UDP broadcasting
temperatures from that same attic every minute. Not one piece of this
equipment has burped due to the temperatures!

On the wireless side, I've got a Linksys WRT54G 4-port 802.11b/g router
and a Linksys WPC54g PCMCIA card for my laptop. These have been in
service for the better part of a year, although I've kept these critters
in the guest room.

Oh, and all this stuff, except the UPS and the TINI board, I got at Fry's.
You'd think something would have burned up and/or died unexpectedly for
that simple fact. :-)

DISCLAIMER: I don't work for Linksys but I've been happy with their
products... so far.
