I don't know how to fix the missing 'date:' entry... but
personally... I don't trust the 'date:' filed of the email
anyway.... if you show / sort-by the 'date:' field ( as you
are doing ) sometimes weird things happen... invalid dates
( 1969 ) go to the bottom or if someone have a mail server
problem and their mail is delayed 4 days... once the mail
arrived, it goes to some page of your email client that
you never see....
so... I always change out the 'Date:' field on my email
client with 'Received:'... that way, the mail is put into
my inbox in the order it was received... not in the order
of the 'Date:' field that may or may not be correct.
I use evolution and you just rigth click in the
column headings and 'add a new field' or Remove a
field.
your mail client may be different but should let you
add a received column... probablly...
