Then that means your /etc/hosts (possibly other files) _should_ be
modified so it works fine when not connected to a network.
Most of the time, putting the hostname (possibly FQDN) after
127.0.0.1 in /etc/hosts solves this nicely.
But it shouldn't dork things up when connected to a network at
the same time.
