I'm a little confused.   Are you having a problem with DHCP or 
configuring the  ethernet interface?   If you aren't sure, I'd  check to 
see you can configure the NIC with a static IP from the command line.  
Also, is Fedora loading the correct kernel module for your NIC?  You 
could use lsmod to check that.  As for Comcast helping you,  I really 
wouldn't get my hopes up.  Last time I checked,  it was thier policy NOT 
to support Linux users.  But even if they did, I doubt they'd have a clue.
