Well, my son-in-law would tell you that since Microsoft bought the 
rights to VMS, that it was obvious I was headed the right direction.  I 
don't agree with him.  It is straight-up C, no GTK, and it is a 
bandwidth monitor.  It outputs to a web-page in real-time and it starts 
from the command line.  I will try going the cygwin route.  I had not 
thought of that.  Thanks, Dennis
