[NTLUG:Discuss] Gaim werked fer me!

You know, I've slept a lot since then, but I believe I installed Gaim as an
rpm...I don't remember compiling it. I might have...but I don't remember
doing so. It actually was already there in RH 7.2, .3 and 8.0, which is
what I was trying to upgrade from...and I just upgraded Gaim. But it
worked just fine for me.

I haven't looked at Kopete, but I understand it's essentially the same
thing...or at least has the same functionality.

I'll definitely second this! Maybe I've just had really bad luck, but
I've had such a hard time trying to compile gaim that I've essentially
given up. Of course, maybe it's not gaim's fault, but instead the fault
of the 9,826 libraries they pull in. :-) If anyone thinks the gnome
development system (i.e. GTK) is great, go try to compile gaim from
source. But be careful, you may end up hating the GTK and everything
gnome based by the time you're done.

A very GTK burnt...
