Then use LEAPBS:
http://www.leap-cf.org/mailinglist.php3?list=bslist
People from several other LUGs do. It's LEAP's off-topic, non-archived,
"anything goes" list. I typically suggest to move stuff to that list
when it's mega-off-topic.
It's not the first time someone has posted their "agenda" on the whole
"engineering" thing, let alone other things that some of us just roll
our eyes on. I don't bring it up, but I'm pretty good on posting my
response to LEAPBS as long as people know about it. In the case of
NTLUG, I just didn't think of it because I had never mentioned the list
before.
But now you know.
If you see me post something that says, "I'm responding to this on
LEAPBS" you'll know you can get my viewpoint there. I try to see _all_
sides of an argument, or even an agenda, but I _do_ understand that 95%
of the list doesn't care. There's no archives for LEAPBS, so I can't
repost a URL or anything either -- so everyone's happy! And anyone who
is not can take it out on the people who not only started the thread,
but continue to proliferate it on the list.
Instead of some blaming me for length, etc..., regardless of anything
else (let alone the fact that I showed _both_ perspectives).

P.S. As far as the hurricane, give me a break. If you were in my
shoes, and you read something wrong, you might have had the same "lack
of professonalism moment" I did.
