[NTLUG:Discuss] MBR problem

My laptop hard drive ground itself to death
I installed a new drive and happily went about installing Mandrake 9.1 again
All is well until reboot - then all get (after the messages about how to 
get to setup) is a black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left 
hand corner.

Please - I would be most appreciative if some one could point me in the 
right direction.
