Steve,

I haven't been following your problem lately since I thought others had 
you on track.  Could you provide a new picture of your configuration, the 
connections involved, and the resolv.conf contents after dhcpd update.

You shouldn't have to setup any forwarders or fancy configuration to get 
out to external name servers.

If you do a "tracepath ns1.nas-inet.com" (that's my name server) from a 
workstation inside the net, what's the output?  This should give us a 
picture of the path through of your net and where things get stuck.

What does "netstat -r" give you on the router (externally connected) 
machine and an internal workstation?
