My comment was to benefit not just the one individual, (Pervaz), but
all on the list, all who use Linux, all who use computers.

It's best to create a boot disk and have on hand a boot disk for your
Linux install, and one for your MS Windows install as well. (If you
have two OS's installed, you should have two boot disks for that
computer, that's just SOP.)

If you hose your boot sector, (on your dual boot system), no problem,
just stick in the [Linux] boot disk, boot to Linux and issue command:
grub-install

If you want to do away with Linux, just delete it all, [delete the
Linux partitions, create and format a MS usable one, (fat16, fat32,
ntfs)], use the use the MS Windows boot disk, boot to MS Windows, run:
fdisk /mbr
and you'll remove grub and re-install your MS Windows boot loader.

Now, if Pervaz has another PC of the same configuration next door, he
could create a boot disk from that other PC and use it. (There were
several implications here.)

Bottom line is, some people think floppy drives are obsolete, I think
they're very handy. "locate a blank floppy" ? It doesn't have to be
blank, most any operating system has the capability to wipe one clean
and write new data to it. That's the advantage of floppy disks,
they're handy, readily available, easy to use, easy deal with, format,
write to, etc.
