Given what the Business Software Alliance could/would do to us if they 
found us using unlicensed software I think firing is the appropriate 
response.  Nobody fired for using MS, just using unlicensed products, 
from anybody.  Incidentally, number fired to date under policy = 0 and 
we hope it stays that way.

With regard to forcing people to use linux, its the company's computers 
and systems.  The company makes all kinds of decisions from where fleet 
vehicles can buy gas, to what suppliers we buy cardboard boxes from to 
what runs on our computers all based on our view of what provides us an 
economic advantage in the marketplace.
