I'd start fresh.  Windows really, really, really, really (really)
likes a clean install periodically.  I've tried numerous tools...
but found none of them could keep Window manageable.

Haven't tried using Windows backup with VMware.  I'd think it would
work as well with a VMware guest as it would moving from any other system
(so no problem.. if you like Windows backup.....ick....).

I'd start fresh.

Btw... I've run both W2K Server and W2K3 Server under VMware
with no problems.  In case folks are curious about the
higher end MS products.
