Especially not DOS-based Windows (95, 98, ME).
NT, including 5.0/2000 and 5.1/XP, tend to be better.

Linux/VMWare tends to be an _ideal_ host for Windows guests.
Especially for reducing TCO in managing Windows Servers.

Beware of advocates who justify their preference not in terms of
