Blue, magenta, green, black are all common colors for what you are
experiencing. In order to get a good screen cap all you should need to do
is disable hardware acceleration for the video player. In the case of video
input you will need to change to a grabable device. Using xawtv this should
be as simple as disabling overlay support -noxv-video. Beware that not all
devices support grab mode.

I have a problem when taking a screen shot.If i have a movie on the screen
(Totem/Ogle/Mplayer) or TV (TVTime/XawTV) the screen shot ends up being a
blue box where the video should be as if there was no signal.
Any suggestions?
