All
We have an old (1993) UNIX box that our "Extreme" switch says is
generating "CRC" errors (definition below from
<http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:3to-leLES0wJ:www.davisnet.com/support/weather/faq/FAQs_WeatherLink.pdf+%22what+are+crc+errors%22&hl=en>
or <http://www.davisnet.com/support/weather/faq/FAQa_WeatherLink.pdf>)

I am not finding anything on the server itself. and 'netstat -i' is
showing a cumulative 2 tenths of 1 percent error ratio. Additionally
the IP is a private one, and we are not detecting any traffic from the
Internet.

Any hints, or clues would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer
Regards
Fred James

"**What are CRC errors?
**CRC stands for Cyclical Redundancy Check. It refers to data
verification after a transmission. If a data packet does not pass a CRC
checksum, then the data is ignored and an error is generated. The
software continuously checks the data packet transmissions. "

Machine: Unisys U6000/65
OS: UNIX SVR4 Release 4.0
NIC: Cogent Ethernet (1997 0r 1998, I think, or maybe 1995 or 1996).
