[NTLUG:Discuss] ubuntu anyone

Howdy,
I use Ubuntu as one of my distros. I like it. It has been stable.
It is as easy to update as any Debian system, but has nice up to date
software. I liked the first release because it was the only major
distro until recently that included Gnome 2.8, which I thought was a
noticeable improvement over earlier versions. The second release of
Ubuntu is due isn a few days and it will include Gnome 2.10. You can
bet I will be installing it.
There have been a couple of add on packages that I remember having
problems with. It was several months ago and I can't tell you which
ones they were. I remember they were related to playing some kind of
video files. I finally got whatever it was working, but it took a while
to track down some of the dependancies, which were not in multiverse,
universe, or anyplace I could find. Sorry, I can't be more specific.
My overall impression is quite good and I would recommend Ubuntu to the
hobbyist, at least.
Good day,
Ralph
